Holiday Window Decorating Tips

There is no better time of the year to decorate your home than at Christmas time. As you decorate the tree, wrap gifts, and hang those wreaths, don’t forget to add some holiday cheer to the windows on your home. A few lights or decorations can go a long way in creating the perfect look. And here at Precision Siding and Construction we wanted to take a moment to share a few of our favorite holiday window decorating tips.

Christmas Snow

Craft your own winter flurries with a window display of falling snowflakes. Premade window snowflake clings come in a wide variety of colors and styles that create a festive holiday window blizzard. Adding snowflake window decorations is an easy and effective way to spruce up your windows and add instant holiday cheer. Soon your home will be surrounded by an array of holiday flurries. And you can complete the look by adding some lights or evergreen at the top of the window.

Christmas Cards

As the holiday season arrives our shelves and mantels tend to overflow with cards from family and friends. As we struggle to find places for all the pictures and cards to be put on display; the most obvious place is right in front of us. The windows of your home are perfect places to highlight this seasons photos and cards. Simply hang a piece of twine across the inside top of your window and attach each card using a clothespin. Ring in the holiday cheer and enjoy your family and friends every time you pass by your windows.

Turn Your Windows into Presents

If you don’t mind losing your view for a few weeks, consider turning your windows into large presents for a special Christmas look for your home. Simply cut out a section of Christmas wrapping paper to fit your window and tape it on the inside. On the outside of the window a ribbon, bow, or wreath can be attached to complete the look of a real present. Use the same paper and style for a uniform look or make each window different for a unique style.

Let the Kids Decorate

Christmas is for building memories and spending time with loved ones, so why not make decorating the windows an event for the whole family? Give the kids some colorful window chalk and let them create festive scenery on your windows. Soon your windows will be adorned with amazing artwork of snowflakes, snowmen, and presents. Plus, you’ll have the memories that will last a lifetime.
